Gesher Theatre

Grades K–1

TWO 4-WEEK SESSIONS:
Session 1: June 23 – July 18 Session 2: July 21 – August 15

Young performers get the thrill of being on stage! Every two weeks the campers put on a show for their parents. The first is a smaller performance to help the kids comfort level with the art of theatre. The second is a larger production put on in the Garfield Theatre. We will play theatre games, learn theatre terms, and focus on “the big three”–facial expression, body language, and projection. They will also participate in swim lessons, art & crafts, sports and field trips. Sing, dance and act your summer away.


Camp Kochavim (Stars) Jr. Performing Arts

Grades 2–3

TWO 4-WEEK SESSIONS:
Session 1: June 23 – July 18 Session 2: July 21 – August 15

 Campers in Kochavim Dance Camp will learn to dance and twirl with the best. Receive instruction in ballet, jazz, hip hop and modern dance. If your child has passion for performing then this is for him or her. Knowing these dances is crucial for a future in theatre. Dazzle family and friends with a dance recital at the end of each session. Don’t forget your dance shoes!


Camp Kochavim (Stars) Jr. Performing Arts

Grades 2–3

TWO 4-WEEK SESSIONS:
Session 1: June 23 – July 18 Session 2: July 21 – August 15

Campers in Kochavim Theatre audition for a role in the session’s production. Each camper is cast in the show, and learns about the stage, backstage, costumes, makeup, scenery, and performing. All campers practice their singing, dancing, and acting skills. In addition to rehearsing their production, campers enjoy swim lessons, arts & crafts, sports, field trips, and theatre outings.

Camp Habima (Stage) Workshop & Summer Stock

Grades 4–6

ONE 2-WEEK SESSION & ONE 6-WEEK SESSION
SESSION 1: June 23 – July 3 SESSION 2: July 7– August 15

 In the award-winning tradition of J*Company, Habima is the place to be for a summer of singing, dancing, and acting. All campers land a role in a Broadway-style musical production. Habima campers also enjoy traditional activities such as arts & crafts, music, swimming, weekly field trips, and late nights. All performances are held in the JCC's 500-seat David & Dorothea Garfield Theatre.

Session 1

Two-Week Camp This session focuses on a musical revue highlighting some of Broadway’s greatest moments Auditions are held on the first day of camp, and everyone receives a role. Campers learn contemporary and classic Broadway showtunes and end with a final performance for family and friends.

Session 2

Six-Week Camp Habima's intensive Theatre Summerstock continues the passion and professionalism of J*Company Youth Theatre. Habima's daily routine includes physical and vocal warm-ups, dance, acting, production rehearsals, stage technique, and improvisation skills. By the end of the session, Habima will be ready to perform a Broadway Musical Style production. Highlights of the session include: a trip to Los Angeles and Disneyland, and attending a theatre performance in San Diego followed by an overnight at the JCC.


Camp Bidur (Entertainment)

Grades 7–9

ONE 2-WEEK SESSION & ONE 6-WEEK SESSION
SESSION 1: June 23 – July 3 SESSION 2: July 7 – August 15

Become a triple threat in this incredible performing arts camp just for teenagers. Through workshops and exercises, campers gain the experience to grow as a performer. Sessions are filled with weekly field trips as well as traditional activities, arts & crafts, music, swimming, and late nights. Each session concludes with a performance in the JCC’s 500-seat David & Dorothea Garfield Theatre.

Session 1

Thump In the great tradition of rhythmic dance – STOMP! Learn how to create basic percussive rhythms, variations of time and how to combine it all to create a musical and visual symphony to choreographing your very own “Thump” ensemble.

Session 2

Six-Week Camp This intensive learning environment trains students in singing, dancing, acting, and audition preparation. Bidur campers participate in a blocked time schedule where they rehearse extensively throughout the day. At the end of the session, Bidur holds a performance for families and friends. Highlights of Bidur include a two-night/three-day trip to Los Angeles, where campers attend a professional dance workshop with L.A. choreographers, step behind the velvet ropes in the Kodak Theatre (home of the Academy Awards), and enjoy a night at a local theme pa
