Do you have an athlete at home? If your grade K-1 child is sports-minded, Gesher Sports introduces campers to a wide variety of traditional and nontraditional sports. From T-ball to track & field, campers have fun learning basic sports rules, fundamental skills, and teamwork. Each session is complemented with traditional activities, arts & crafts, music, swimming, weekly field trips, and a late night.

A sports-filled summer awaits your child at Camp Kadima. Each week focuses on a new sport, offering your child exposure to a variety of athletic opportunities. From traditional sports (basketball, soccer, baseball, and golf) to more extreme sports (rock climbing, surfing, and sailing), Camp Kadima stresses teamwork and the fundamental skills necessary to successfully participate and compete. Surfing, rock climbing, sailing and golf feature professional instruction by our friends at Surf Sessions, Vertical Hold, Mission Bay Aquatic Center and Tecolote Canyon Golf Course. Each session is complemented with traditional activities, arts & crafts, music, swimming, weekly field trips.

Every athlete will find a home at Camp Maccabiah! Designed for those who love sports. Each 2-week session campers participate in week-long specializedsports clinics. At least two hours every day is spent in skill development and games with our sports staff. Camp Maccabiah is complemented by overnight trips to Catalina and L.A. theme parks, rock climbing at Vertical Hold and ocean sports with San Diego Bike & Kayak. In addition campers participate in weekly field trips, music, Judaica, swimming, and arts & crafts.

Golf

ONE 2-WEEK SESSION: August 3 – 14

The JCC Golf camp is an exciting and fun program with on-course experience and individual attention. Each day focuses on a fundamental: chipping, putting, driving and golf course etiquette. Even if your camper doesn’t become the next Tiger Woods, our golf camp will improve skills and understanding of the game. A great opportunity for the developing golfer. Please bring your own golf clubs and wear golf course attire (collared shirt/shorts).

 


Jr. Lifeguard

Grades 5–8

ONE 4-WEEK SESSION:

The JCC Friedenberg Pool along with the American Red Cross, has developed a program for campers to learn leadership, selfesteem, teamwork and skills needed to stay safe in and around the pool. This course does not certify the student to be a lifeguard, but instead, campers will have rescue knowledge and training that will prepare them for an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course when age appropriate. Campers may enroll in one of the sessions offered or they can enroll in all sessions for the summer! Students will have both water and classroom activities.

Pre-requisite: Participants must be able to swim a least one full lap (25 yards) before enrolling in the program. Students must bring a bathing suit, goggles, sun screen and towel each day, along with writing materials for classroom work.


Surfing

Grades 4–6

ONE 2-WEEK SESSION: June 22 – July 2

Master the waves and hit the beach! Join our experienced friends at Surf Sessions and learn surfing technique, water safety, and an appreciation for the ocean. Campers surf for half of the day and then come back to the JCC to participate in traditional camp activities. This camp is open to surfers of all skill levels, and all equipment is provided. Pre-requisite: Participants must be able to swim.
