Emerging Leaders Program

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR JEWISH TEENS

We are developing a new program at the JCC that encourages teens to become more active and engaged in their communities, while building the leadership skills to make a real impact! We will host leadership workshops and community service projects that will provide your teens learning, growth and confidence to become a well-rounded young adult!

If you come to at least four community service/leadership events or workshops, you will be invited to a Leadership Banquet in May and presented a Leadership Certificate of Merit (which would look great for College Apps!).

GOAL SETTING
Thursday, February 19, 2009 • 8:00 P.M. in Wax Family Teen Activity Center

Develop a plan for creating and actualizing every goal you have in life! Imagine the power you’ll have when you can accomplish anything you set your mind to, because you have the system in place to make it happen! This is great for those Juniors and Seniors who are deciding on colleges/majors!

Understand the power and importance of community service, and how community service and contribution can benefit us in our lives. Discuss global themes and current events that will provide you with a better understanding of the world you live in.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Whether you are new to leadership or consider yourself a leader already, this experience will give you a chance to develop and improve your talents. Learn fundamental skills that will give you the confidence and capabilities to be an asset in everything that you do. Training includes: interpersonal communication (how to effectively collaborate in groups), dialogue/meeting facilitation, team building and public speaking/ active listening.
