The “PLACE TO BE” and more... |
HAPPY CHANUKAH…
December 22-29 (candles lit the night before)
.gif)
Winter is here and that means…….the only “Place To Be” on December 24 is at BeloNightclubdowntown! Yes, we’re heading back to the Gaslamp for this annual fundraiser that brings hundreds of Jewish singles and young couples together to meet new people and reconnect with friends from the past.
Speaking of making new friends, mark your calendars now for a special Flix Mix and prelude to the San Diego Jewish Film Festival on Wednesday, January 7 at Rock Bottom Brewery prior to the film at the Landmark Theatre in La Jolla. Flix Mix is geared towards ages 25-49, and includes a social mixer at a restaurant prior to viewing the film, DEFIANCE. Based on an extraordinary true story, DEFIANCE is an epic tale of family, honor, vengeance and salvation in World War II. The year is 1941 and the Jews of Eastern Europe are being massacred by the thousands. Managing to escape certain death, three brothers take refuge in the dense surrounding woods they have known since childhood. There they begin their desperate battle against the Nazis. Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell star as brothers who turn a primitive struggle to survive into something far more consequential – a way to avenge the deaths of their loved ones by saving thousands of others. To see a trailer, click on http://www.defiancemovie.com/. The Flix Mix during the San Diego Jewish Film Festival will take place on Thursday, February 12 at a restaurant near the Ultrastar Hazard Center. More details about both Flix Mix events will be announced at a later time.
Have you checked out the JABA events yet? This new group geared towards the young 20s has been creating an environment that promotes social activity and enthusiasm among young Jewish adults in San Diego, ultimately establishing a strong new network of Jewish friends. Past events have included: La Jolla Brewhouse & Bowling, Tapas at the Lei Lounge & Dancing at the beach atop the “W” Hotel, Disco Roller Skating, a Schmooze Cruise around the Harbor, and more. Check out www.lfjcc.org/jaba for more information.

Check out the other community groups listed at the bottom of this newsletter for additional activities that Jewish singles can join.
