Adult Fit Camp

Sundays June 14, 28, July 12, 2015, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

These camps, designed by JCC Fitness Director Robyn Cohen and Wellness Instructor, Cathy Kohler, are broken down into three sessions per day with topics ranging from personal well-being and stress reduction to nutritional education and healthy cooking. Along with the traditional classes such as fitness, circuit and strength training, these sessions will also incorporate unique classes such as hula hoop, art and meditation. This camp will also include the introduction of the brand new Pound Workout, where participants combine strength training with simulated percussion drumming. All sessions will take place at the Lawrence Family JCC Jacobs Family Campus located at 4126 Executive Dr. La Jolla, CA 92037. Please note that all fitness levels are welcome. Camp consists of nine total camp hours that runs on three Sundays; June 14, 28 and July 12, from 9:30am -12:30pm each Sunday. Price: $170. JCC members will receive 20% off any session they choose. Mixed Modality Bootcamp

Pound Off the Pounds

Stretch for Flexibility

Our 8 week program will help you prepare for the Hot Chocolate 5K running race March 22nd, 2015. If you have thought about running a 5K but don’t know where to start or, if you are just looking for some expert advice, this is a great program foryou. The camp will include proper running form and techniques, conditioning and injury prevention, stretching, biomechanics, strength training and lots more.

Ashtanga Yoga is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009). This method will blend the breath with movement, increasing the body’s heat in order to sweat and purify. Vinyasa Flow Yoga I

Vinyasa is the alignment of movement and breath, a method which turns static asana into a dynamic flow. Focusing on fundamental poses in detail, you will gain an understanding, which can be easily built upon. You will increase your strength and flexibility, develop mind-body awareness and alignment, and learn to integrate breath with movement. This class is great for beginners or those who prefer a slower flow. Modifications are always offered.

This class builds from the basic levels of Vinyasa to create the flowing sequences that incorporate basic poses with more challenging options. You will increase your strength and flexibility, deepen mind-body awareness and understanding of body alignment, and learn to integrate breath with movement. Pilates Personal Training

Pilates is a body conditioning method that helps to increase flexibility, build strength, and improve endurance for long lean muscles. It puts emphasis on breathing, alignment, and a strong core while improving coordination and balance. We are committed to helping each individual improve their health and heighten their self awareness with our individualized approach.
