Intro to Kettlebell/Kettlebell Basic

NIA (Neuromuscular Integrative Action)

Thursday • 6:30–7:25 P.M.

NIA (pronounced nee-ya), is a fantastic aerobic
workout, or as some have called it – “a fabulous
spiritual sweat” – that uses the concentration
and flow of tai chi, the mindfulness of yoga, the
power and focus of martial arts, the grace and
spontaneity of modern and ethnic dance, and the
freedom and authenticity of creative movement.
These disciplines are integrated to create an
exhilarating workout that is expressive, inspiring
and fun.

Pilates Mat Science

Non-impact floor work used for years by

Sit and Get Fit

This class is perfect for people who want to
gently increase overall body strength, regain or
improve flexibility, as well as challenge the body’s
balance ability. Sections of the class are standing
to challenge balance and strength, while other
sections are seated to increase flexibility.

Stretch for Flexibility

Tuesdays and Thursdays • 9:15–10:10 A.M.

Reduce tension in your body by elongating your
muscles. This class combines a variety of
stretching techniques to open up your body.
Adding stretching to your life will prevent
muscular strain, tearing and general soreness.
A perfect class for any level of fitness! Wear
comfortable clothes. The JCC provides mats if
you don't have your own.

Triathlon Training Camp

Our 8 week Program will help your fitness peak for
some of the upcoming sprint triathlons this season.
If you have thought about running in a triathlon,
this is a great program to get you started. Your
training plan includes: brick workouts, swimming
biomechanics in our Olympic size pool, bike set up,
running and heart rate training, transitions, sport
nutrition and setting up a training schedule.

Wellness 101 – Back to Basics

Wednesdays • 6:30–7:30 P.M.

Start 2012 off right with the JCC’s new series of
classes that incorporate the fundamentals of our
programs offered within health and wellness. Each
month, we will focus on a specific practice and teach
the basics of that practice to help inform participants
of correct form, terminology and other important
aspects of the exercise to help create a sense of
comfort to carry into the normal class schedule.
This is the perfect program for beginners or those
returning to a healthier lifestyle. Regular exercise can
help protect you from heart disease, stroke, high
blood pressure, non-insulin dependent diabetes,
obesity, back pain, can improve your mood and help
you to better manage stress. Our goal is to show how
exercise can be a fun and simple addition to your life.

Ashtanga/Power Yoga

Mondays, 4:45-6:00 P.M.

Ashtanga Yoga is a system of yoga transmitted
to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois
(1915-2009). This method will blend the breath with
movement increasing the body’s heat in order to
sweat and purify. You will also increase your
strength and flexibility and develop mind-body
awareness and alignment.
