Moores UCSD Cancer Center Spring Sprint Triathlon
May 4, 2008

 

Our 8-week Program will help you reach your fitness peak for the Moores UCSD Cancer Center Spring Sprint in Mission Bay on May 4, 2008. The Triathlon will consist of a 1/4 mile swim, 9 mile bike, and a 3 mile run. Your training plan includes: brick workouts, swimming biomechanics in our olympic size pool, bike set up, proper fit of a bike, cycling on our turbo trainers, running and heart rate training, transitions, sport nutrition and a setting up a training schedule in preparation for race day, May 4, 2008.

 

THE TRIATHLON COURSE:
THE SWIM–
is in a protected cove with calm waters at South Shores Park. Triathletes start and finish at the boat launch ramp completing a .25 mile rectangular course. Water temperature is approx. 60-65 degrees, wetsuits are recommended. The start is in the water about 50’ in front of the boat ramp-the swim is rectangular. Swimmers will keep the buoys on their left shoulder, except when finishing the swim into the boat ramp. THE BIKE– Athletes will then bike from South Shores Park to Fiesta Island and complete one large loop around the island followed by one small loop that cuts through the middle of the island and return to the transition area. THE RUN–The final 2 loop 3 mile run will be on walkways and on an off–road dirt trail. The run portion of the race is 2 loops Please make sure to complete both loops of the run course to prevent disqualification.

Xterra Wetsuits Solana Beach Triathlon
July 27, 2008

Our 8-week Program will help you reach your fitness peak for the Solana Beach Sprint Triathlon July 27, 2008. This triathlon features an open 1/4 mile ocean swim, a flat double loop 9 mile bike and a 3 mile run along coast HWY 101! Your training plan includes: planning a training schedule, heart rate training, biomechanics of swimming, biking and running, bike set up transitions and brick workouts. You must bring your own bike. Space is limited to 20 participants.

 

THE TRIATHLON COURSE:
THE SWIM–is in the open ocean at Fletcher Cove. Triathletes start and finish at the cove completing a 1/4 mile U-shaped course. Water temperature is approx. 66-70 degrees, wetsuits are optional. THE BIKE–Athletes will then bike a 9 mile flat double looped course on Highway 101. THE RUN–Athletes will continue by running a 3 mile double looped flat course on Highway 101. THE RUN COURSE AND THE BIKE COURSE BOTH HAVE TWO LOOPS!!!
