Community Service Projects

Each month we will be advertising and promoting a community service
project to embark on based on the consideration of the Teen Leadership
Council. We will be collaborating with community service organizations
and other Jewish Agencies and Youth groups to promote community
engagement and build partnerships. This is a great way to get your
community service hours for the month and learn more about the community we live in.
If you come to at least four community service/leadership events or
workshops, you will be invited to a Leadership Banquet in May
and presented a Leadership Certificate of Merit (which would look
great for College Apps!)
HOMEWORK BUDDIES
The JCC Teen Department is teaming up with J-Team to create a meaningful and enriching Teen Leadership Council community service project. Each Wednesday from 4-5 P.M., teens will meet with kids from J-Team and work on homework, read together, and play games. Participants will gain community service hours while acting as positive
role-models for younger children.

TEEN COALITION J SERVE 2012
Sunday, April 15, 2012
J-Serve is the annual day of service for Jewish youth throughout the world. It is a day on which Jewish teens join their counterparts in other faith communities, cities, and other countries in giving their time to serve the communities in which they live. This year, J Serve in San Diego will be coordinated by the JCC Teen Department and our Teen Leadership Council. All youth groups and teen programs welcome. Contact Karen at 858.362.1331, karenf@lfjcc.com to find out how you can get involved in this annual day of service!
Generously supported by the Jewish Federation of San Diego County
ISRAEL HOUSE IN BALBOA PARK
Head down to Balboa Park on Sundays and check out the Israel House in the International Village. There you will meet our teen volunteers who will share with you their pride in the Jewish State and hand you a delicious latke. Spend some time there as a volunteer and you’ll gain invaluable stories from other friends of Israel while showing your support for our homeland.
