Dr. Alyssa Goldstein Sepinwall

Alyssa Goldstein Sepinwall is Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the History Department at California State University, San Marcos, where she has taught for twenty-five years. She earned a BA in History from the University of Pennsylvania and her MA and PhD in History and Jewish Studies from Stanford University. In 2023, Sepinwall won the statewide Wang Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award, the highest honor for an instructor in the California State University system. Her books include The Abbé Grégoire and the French Revolution: The Making of Modern Universalism (2005); Haitian History: New Perspectives (2012); and Slave Revolt on Screen: The Haitian Revolution in Film and Video Games (2021).
