Carlos Mendoza

Carlos Mendoza is the current Education and Outreach Director at Cygnet Theatre. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus on Musical Theatre from the United States International University in San Diego, California. Before joining Cygnet Theatre, he served as the Education and Outreach Director at Musical Theatre West and worked as the project coordinator for Arts United. Carlos is a well-rounded entertainment industry professional with experience as an actor, director, choreographer, and producer.

He has received numerous accolades, including the San Diego Critics Circle Awards for his outstanding productions of West Side Story, Ragtime, and In the Heights. He was also honored with the 2014 BRAVO (San Diego) award for his exceptional contributions to the art, the 2015 National Youth Arts Award for his remarkable production of In the Heights at San Diego Junior Theatre, and the Inland Theatre League Award for Choreography for his exceptional choreography work in his production of In the Heights at Performance Riverside. In addition, he received The Mary Jane Teal Award for his outstanding production of In the Heights at Music Theatre Wichita. Furthermore, Carlos has choreographed two full seasons of Dos Y Dos for the Latin American Multimedia.
