Susan Lipson

Susan L. Lipson is a singer-songwriter, cantorial soloist, and member of the Guild of Temple Musicians, as well as a published author of poetry, fiction, educational materials, and inspirational poetic prayers. Susan is also a private creative writing teacher of kids (ages 8-18). Despite having no formal musical training, Susan has used her decades of Jewish learning and active communal participation, along with her innate musical abilities, to serve as a part-time cantorial soloist and resident composer for her own synagogue, Temple Adat Shalom, where she often writes and leads special services for the TAS Sisterhood, the outdoor Torah Trek hiking services, Yom HaShoah, S’lichot, and other special-themed services. Susan has sung at Reform and Conservative Shabbat services, Jewish community programs, and interfaith services. Through everything she writes, Susan aims to heighten awareness of the Divine presence that often plays like a soundtrack in her head.
