Dr. Dekel Shay Schory

Dr. Shay Schory is a literary researcher and editor and teaches in the Departments of Literature at Hebrew University and Ben Gurion University. Her research focuses on Hebrew and German-Jewish literature, mainly the relations between German and Hebrew literature and language from 1900 to 1933. Her book, Tree Trunks in The Snow: Four Jewish Authors in Vienna is forthcoming. Since 2022, she is a senior editor at The Hebrew Literature Department at the Kinneret-Zmora-Dvir publishing house, one of the leading publishing houses in Israel. Following her passion for Israeli graphic literature, she has researched the short history of the genre in Israel and has created academic and non-academic courses on the subject. She frequently publishes graphic novel reviews.

Dr. Shay Schory is the 2023-24 Gloria and Rod Stone Visiting Professor through the Murray Galinson San Diego-Israel Initiative, teaching in the SDSU Department of English & Comparative Literature.
