Remembrance Reading: Hiding in the Open

The National Jewish Theater Foundation's (NJTF) Remembrance Readings program brings communities together through the power of theater to remember the Holocaust and honor its lessons. Hiding in the Open - adapted by Kira Obolensky from Sabina Zimering's memoir, tells the true story of two young Jewish sisters in Poland during the Holocaust who survived by disguising themselves and living in plain sight.

Ages 12-18
Auditions: Wednesday, October 22, 2025 | 7:00 - 8:30 pm

Performance: November 18, 2025 (with the intention of additional performances on and off site)

This season’s featured show is Xanadu - a hilarious, roller-skating musical adventure inspired by the cult classic film. Filled with ‘80s pop, Greek mythology, and glittery fun, Xanadu is a joyous celebration of creativity, love, and finding your muse.

Join JCompany for Shabbat Shakespeare, a spirited journey into the magical and whimsical world of William Shakespeare’s As You Like It. Lovesick Rosalind flees her uncle’s court with her cousin Celia, disguising herself in the forest. There, she meets Orlando—on the run and unaware of her true identity. As mistaken identities and tangled hearts collide, can everyone find their happy ending?

Into the Woods intertwines the tales of classic fairytale characters in a clever and heartfelt musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. A Baker and his wife, cursed by a Witch, set off to break the spell. Along the way, they cross paths with Cinderella, Jack, Little Red Riding Hood, and more—each chasing a wish. But when their dreams come true, the consequences reveal that “happily ever after” isn’t always what it seems.

Based on Jeff Kinney’s hit book series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical is a funny and heartfelt story about friendship, fitting in, and surviving the chaos of middle school.
