During these unprecedented times, the LFJCC COVID-19 Taskforce, Board of Directors, and staff have relied on the guidance of the CDC, State and local regulatory agencies as well as Jewish values such as Pikuah Nefesh - the safeguarding of human life, to drive our decision making as we have responded to this crisis. Based on this guidance we have created a comprehensive reopening plan. This plan builds upon LFJCC's already recognized high standards of health, safety, and cleanliness – and takes them to the highest level. For details, visit

Based on Puccini’s beloved opera La Bohème, Jonathan Larson’s life-changing musical Rent follows the ups and downs of a year in the life of a group of impoverished, artistic friends living in Manhattan’s East Village. Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, struggles to find his place in the world; his roommate Roger, an HIV-positive musician, wonders how he will leave his mark before he dies. Mimi and Angel look for true love as they face the harsh reality of life as HIV-positive young people, while the businesslike Joanne seeks fidelity from her wild-child performance artist girlfriend Maureen. The group’s dreams, losses, and love stories weave through the musical’s narration to paint a stunningly raw and emotional portrait of the gritty bohemian world of New York City in the early 1990s.

The Odd Potato tells the tale of Rachel and Sammy Levy's attempt to re-instill joy and laughter to their grieving father during Hanukkah using an “odd potato” and a little imagination. With award winning music and a plot often described as the “Jewish Christmas Carol” every moment is fun for the entire family.
