Remembrance Readings
Remembrance Readings are JCompany’s annual script-in-hand performances that honor memory, resilience, and hope through powerful storytelling. Drawn from the National Jewish Theater Foundation’s Holocaust Theater Initiative, these readings allow youth performers and audience members to explore history, empathy, and moral courage while sharing untold stories that continue to shape our understanding of humanity. These are complimentary performances supported by Jewish Federation of San Diego. JCompany’s Remembrance Readings are powerful, script-in-hand performances that honor memory, resilience, and hope through storytelling about the Holocaust. Designed for young performers and audiences alike, these readings explore history, empathy, and moral courage—creating a meaningful, discussion-provoking experience.
Perfect for schools, libraries, and faith-based organizations, this program engages students and communities in learning, reflection, and dialogue, bringing untold stories of loss, survival, and courage to life in a way that resonates long after the performance.
Theatre for Young Audiences
Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) is a live performance created specifically for children ages 3-7, blending age-appropriate storytelling with interactive and engaging elements. It aims to inspire imagination, empathy, and critical thinking while introducing young people to the performing arts. This year we're premiering the story of Laggie and Grillo, an Unlikely Friendship by local children's author, Phyllis Schwartz.
Join Yoshi and her unusual pets (a lizard and a cricket!) as she writes a hilarious poem with words in Spanish, Yiddish, and Japanese for a school assignment. Celebrate with her as she receives a B+, and then later, as another pet joins the family!

On The Town (OTT) is JCompany Youth Theatre’s dynamic traveling performance troupe—an ensemble of exceptionally talented young artists from across San Diego County. With high-energy song and dance numbers, these performers light up any stage and leave audiences inspired and smiling.
